John O’Shea | Principal

John is the O’Shea in “O’Sheas”. His family have produced 3 generations of legal practitioners including his father Bryan, his brother Dermot and his youngest daughter Clare.

John completed a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Auckland. He was admitted to the bar in 1971 and practiced in Te Awamutu and Hamilton before amalgamating his own practice with his brother in 1992. John draws on over 40 years of legal practice, from which he now possesses an extensive knowledge in many areas of law. He has also accrued experience as a holder of numerous company directorships, and as a trustee in various charitable and family trusts.

A skilled practitioner, John is able to quickly identify the relevant issues and provide his clients with astute and comprehensive legal advice. He is well supported by experienced staff, including our legal executive Ngaire who has worked with him for 30 years.

Outside of the office, John enjoys spending time with his wife, children, family and friends. He enjoys the outdoors biking, tennis and walking.
