Graduated from Auckland University in 1970.

Admitted to the Bar – March 1970.

Dermot had worked in law firms in Auckland before returning to Ngaruawahia at the end of 1969.

He joined his father in partnership at Ngaruawahia in 1972.

He retired as a partner in October 2007 but continues to practice as a consultant.

The main areas of property work he practices in are:

General property with emphasis on Rural, Maori Land, Motels, Estates, Wills and Trusts.
